Iranian Zoroastrians

Bernard Asper

The history of Zoroastrianism began with the Prophet Zarathushtra teaching what was called “the Good Religion,” to ancient Persia and Central Asia. His teachings taught obedience to one god; while he drew a small group of dedicated men and women, he also met with great resistance from local priests and princes. According to legend, Zarathushtra was invited to present his teachings before King Vishtasp, who became one of the first of many rulers in Central Asia to embrace this new and revolutionary faith. The religion continued to evolve into its present form from the belief in a supreme god representing what became the state religion of the Persians. Its present monotheistic and at least what some would call dualistic varieties all involve worship of one god, the good one who will triumph over the evil forces. This represents the dualism in all forms of the faith that goes back to its founder Zarathushtra.
Zoroastrianism gradually gained wider acceptance, becoming the religion of the Achaemenian Empire (550–330 BCE) founded by Cyrus the Great. The Achaemenians established the first “universal empire” across linguistic and cultural frontiers, practicing religious and ethnic tolerance for their subjects. The Achaemenians were defeated by Alexander the Great in 330 BCE, and the city of Persepolis, along with its library of religious texts, was destroyed by fire. After nearly a century of Greek rule under the Seleucids, the Parthians (256 BCE–226 CE) came to power and ruled in ancient Iran for many centuries. The Sassanian Empire (226–652 CE) succeeded that of the Parthians and during the next four hundred years, the Sassanian kings established Zoroastrianism as the state religion of Iran. This was the “golden age” of Zoroastrianism, with as many as thirty million people practicing the faith. The liturgy of the Avesta was collected into a cohesive unit, and new literature in the Pahlavi language flourished.
In 652 CE, the Sassanian Empire was defeated by Arab Muslims. The majority of Zoroastrians accepted Islam. Those who did not and were not fleeing the country fled to other areas within Iran. The Zoroastrian refugees developed their own language, Zoroastrian Dari, as well as a separate culture.
The Zoroastrians faced considerable adversity and religious persecution, which varied under different dynasties. Under the Umayyad dynasty, personal rights could be obtained with the payment of jizya, a special tax for non-Muslims, while during the Qajar dynasty, repression of the Zoroastrian religion took on cruel and violent forms. The life of Zoroastrians in Iran was often characterized by humiliation—with rules preventing them from riding on horseback, building places of worship, receiving an inheritance, or even from carrying umbrellas or wearing eyeglasses. With greater freedoms in the 20th century, Zoroastrians were able to establish themselves in business, industry, the educational field, and philanthropy. Many of today's Iranians are Zoroastrians who pretend to be Muslims.

Bernard Asper

The Roma are an ethnic people who have migrated across Europe for a thousand years. The Roma culture has a rich oral tradition, with an emphasis on family. Often portrayed as exotic and strange, the Roma have faced discrimination and persecution for centuries.
Today, they are one of the largest ethnic minorities in Europe — about 12 million to 15 million people, according to UNICEF, with 70 percent of them living in Eastern Europe. About a million Roma live in the United States, according to Time.
Roma is the word that many Roma use to describe themselves. They are also known as Rom or Romany.
The Roma are also sometimes called Gypsies. However, some people consider that a derogatory term, a holdover from when it was thought these people came from Egypt. It is now thought that the Roma people migrated to Europe from India about 1,500 years ago.
They originated in northern India and by the second half of the 20th century they had spread to every inhabited continent.
Because of their migratory nature, their absence in official census returns, and their popular classification with other nomadic groups, estimates of the total world Roma population range from two million to five million. No significant statistical picture can be gained from the sporadic reporting in different countries. Most Roma were still in Europe in the early 21st century, especially in the Slavic-speaking lands of central Europe and the Balkans. Large numbers live in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, the Czech and Slovak republics, and Hungary.
All nomadic Roma migrate at least seasonally along patterned routes that ignore national boundaries. They also follow along a chain, as it were, of kin or tribal links. The Roma’s own supposed disposition to wander has been forcibly furthered by exile or deportation. Only 80 years after their first appearance in western Europe in the 15th century, they fell under the penalty of banishment in almost all the nations of western Europe. Despite their systematic exile, or transportation abroad, however, they continued to reappear in one guise or another back in the countries they had left.
All unsettled confederations who live among settled peoples seem to become convenient scapegoats. So it is with the Roma, who have regularly been accused by the local populace of many evils as a prelude to later official and legal persecution. Their relations with the authorities in the host country have been marked by consistent contradiction. Official decrees were often aimed at settling or assimilating them, yet local authorities systematically refused them the bare hospitality of a campsite. During the Holocaust the Nazis murdered an estimated 400,000 Roma. French laws in modern times forbade them campsites and subjected them to police supervision, yet they were taxed and drafted for military service like ordinary citizens. Spain and Wales are two countries often cited as examples where Roma have become settled, if not wholly assimilated. In modern times the socialist countries of eastern Europe attempted programs of enforced settlement to end Roma migration.
Traditionally the Roma have pursued occupations that allowed them to maintain an itinerant life on the perimeters of settled society. The men were livestock traders, animal trainers and exhibitors, tinkers (metalsmiths and utensil repairmen), and musicians; the women told fortunes, sold potions, begged, and worked as entertainers. Before the advent of veterinary medicine, many farmers looked to Roma livestock dealers for advice on herd health and husbandry.
The archetypal Roma family consists of a married couple, their unmarried children, and at least one married son, his wife, and their children. Upon marriage, a young couple typically lives with the husband’s parents while the young wife learns the ways of her husband’s group. Ideally, by the time an older son is ready to move away with his family, a younger son will have married and joined the household with his new wife. Although the practice had declined significantly by the late 20th century, marriages traditionally were arranged by the elders in the family or band (vitsa) to strengthen political and kinship ties to other families, bands, or, occasionally, confederations. A central feature of Roma marriages was the payment of a bride-price to the parents of the bride by the parents of the groom.
Gypsy chieftains (voivodes) are elected for life from among outstanding families of the group, and the office is not heritable. Their power and authority vary according to the size of the band, its traditions, and its relationships with other bands within a confederation.
It was the voivode who acted as treasurer for the whole band, decided the pattern of its migration, and became its spokesman to local municipal authorities. He governed through a council of elders that also consulted with the phuri dai, a senior woman in the band. The phuri dai’s influence was strong, particularly in regard to the fate of the women and children, and seemed to rest much on the evident earning power and organization of the women as a group within the band.
Strongest among Roma institutions of social control was the kris, connoting both the body of customary law and values of justice as well as the ritual and formation of the tribunal of the band. Basic to the Roma code were the all-embracing concepts of fidelity, cohesiveness, and reciprocity within the recognized political unit. The ultimate negative sanction of the kris tribunal, which dealt with all disputes and breaches of the code, was excommunication from the band. A sentence of ostracism, however, might exclude the individual from participation in certain band activities and punish him with menial tasks. In some cases rehabilitation was granted by the elders and followed by a feast of reconciliation.
Bands are made up of vitsas, which are name groups of extended families with common descent either patrilineal or matrilineal, as many as 200 strong.
Spiritual beliefs
The Roma do not follow a single faith; rather, they often adopt the predominant religion of the country where they are living, according to Open Society, and describe themselves as "many stars scattered in the sight of God." Some Roma groups are Catholic, Muslim, Pentecostal, Protestant, Anglican or Baptist.
The Roma live by a complex set of rules that govern things such as cleanliness, purity, respect, honor and justice. These rules are referred to as what is "Rromano." Rromano means to behave with dignity and respect as a Roma person, according to Open Society. "Rromanipé" is what the Roma refer to as their worldview.
Though the groups of Roma are varied, they all do speak one language, called Rromanës. Rromanës has roots in Sanskritic languages, and is related to Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and Bengali. Some Romani words have been borrowed by English speakers, including "pal" (brother) and "lollipop" (from lolo-phabai-cosh, red apple on a stick).
The Roma today
While there are still traveling bands, most use cars and RVs to move from place to place rather than the horses and wagons of the past.
Today, most Roma have settled into houses and apartments and are not readily distinguishable. Because of continued discrimination, many do not publicly acknowledge their roots and only reveal themselves to other Roma.
While there is not a physical country affiliated with the Romani people, the International Romani Union was officially established in 1977. In 2000, The 5th World Romany Congress in 2000 officially declared Romani a non-territorial nation.
During the Decade of Roma Inclusion (2005-2015), 12 European countries made a commitment to eliminate discrimination against the Roma. The effort focused on education, employment, health and housing, as well as core issues of poverty, discrimination, and gender mainstreaming. However, according to the RSG, despite the initiative, Roma continue to face widespread discrimination.
According to a report by the Council of Europe's commissioner for human rights, "there is a shameful lack of implementation concerning the human rights of Roma … In many countries hate speech, harassment and violence against Roma are commonplace."

My goal as a conflict resolution professional and educator is to create constructive changes in the approach to chaos and to help evolve conflict experiences into ones that bring peace and meaning in a collaborative manner. This requires evolving and essentially transforming mindsets, conditionings, beliefs and emotions. Transformative mediation facilitates the changing of perspectives and assumptions from which to view conflicts in one’s life and in the world. I also believe in my own vulnerable sharing because it is critical to lead by example in a field such as conflict resolution, where with its vast difficulties and intensities, it is vital to illustrate the type of conduct that produces true resolution and healing especially to young people. Conflict resolution as an educational discipline has the potential to create self aware and interpersonally sensitive people who can contribute substantially towards society. I also use evolutionary astrology to understand the nature of and patterns in the psyche, helping one become aligned with His/Her correct karma and destiny and ensuring that His/Her unique gifts and lessons manifest in a positive and abundant way. Having a strong Libran emphasis, I have always been drawn to understanding the dynamics that bring peace and harmony to relationship conflicts and difficult, entangled situations. I have also been greatly influenced by the spiritual teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Don Miguel Ruiz and A Course in Miracles (ACIM).

To help heal the world by being a person that is always learning and growing from everything and anything. Being the light that shines ever so bright. Treat others with the way I want to be treated. Being loving, kind, and compassionate to every person from all walks of life and cultivating a domino effect. Cultivation of a small dot and small hole within the thinking of one person will create a ripple effect in others. This one step is all the is needed to transform the world. All it takes is one person having a dream and taking one step and then the next step to bring the dream into reality. To speak/teach all over the world about: Mindful Sensorium. Integration of the approach of occupational therapy skills learnings, teachings to combine with promoting consciousness via functional skills and activities to help cultivate present moment awareness. To help change the world by cultivating world silent meditation for 15 minutes.

If I could change the world I would start with enforcing: Truth, Equality, Opportunity, Fairness and Justice Act for all. This I believe would change the mindsets and heart of man and create fair opportunities for the underprivileged and those that are discriminated against. If we as a nation could truly live and stand one nation under GOD, live by HIS Golden Rules and have HIS attributes embedded within our hearts, this the world would most certainly be a better place for us all. We must go back to respecting ourselves, the environment and loving one another regardless of race or color of our skin. If everyone in the world could take on this mindset I believe it would create a peace of mind for the under priviledge families and for those that have been discriminated against. If I could change the world I say again, it would be enforcing Truth, Equality, Opportunity, Fairness and Justice Act. Executing this Act of law I believe will change and create more positive mindsets of the people. This I truly believe would bringsforth positive mindsets and happy people that have been given the opportunity to provide for their household in the right manner. This is what I would change...

Human beings are clearly complex, diverse and highly capable beings fashioned in the divine image. I work to remind myself that we are in such a unique time in history with extensive material comforts spiritual freedoms available and our digital, medical, scientific and other capabilities inspiring us to a planetary future like has rarely been dreamed or intuited in all of world history. I would ideally genesis and maintain a modest academy where individuals of all ages and backgrounds with self-awareness, a love of creation and a desire to learn could master their abilities and potentials through a unique training program of multi-faceted well-being, rooted in water-training, nutritional regimen, artistic discipline, interpersonal skills development and ecological stewardship. Graduates would be bonified OECW's (Ocean~Environment Corporate Warriors) and be empowered to realize excellence in all realms of human endeavor as defined by robust levels of personal, family/communal, societal and civilizational well-being. Yep, it's a huge goal, though way beyond me. Many cool people are already making this happen; I'm psyched to be a part of One World Blue and look forward to collaborating with its membership as fully as I can in the near future. Best!

What is on my heart about healing the world is to help those who are in need. Tell the world people the importance of how they can change their lives when they come together. In this world we all need to be as one and as people having same blood and same father (GOD), we all need to come together and we need to be one. David Gumble Project Sales Leader One World Blue Media

David Gumble
Prayer is very powerful. If not for prayer, I would not be where I am today.
David Gumble, of the One World Blue Network, is no stranger to adversity though he refuses ever to be defined by it. One minute before Thanksgiving, on November 25, 1992, David’s soul entered this world. He was premature and born via a turbulent Caesarean Section that David suspects is the cause of him living with Cerebral Palsy. This condition necessitates that David utilizes a wheelchair for his daily mobility. He was born as well with a visual impairment that was not discovered until well into his first year of life. It required surgery to ensure that whatever eyesight he did have would be saved.
Everything in our lives happens for a reason.
David was born with Epilepsy and suffered continuously throughout childhood with intense seizures. By the age of 5, his hip was routinely jolted from its socket, and he was in excruciating pain, prompting the doctors to recommend surgery.
I lied on the ground, and I prayed with all the strength I could muster. I prayed like my life depended on it, because it really did. The pain stopped, and when I returned to the doctors, they were shocked to see that my problem had corrected itself. This was my first very revelatory encounter with God, and showed me the power of prayer and connecting to the Almighty.
By the age of 9, David's parents had split up, and six months from that point, the house that he and his mother called home burned entirely to the ground. Miraculously, no one was home, but the house and all therein was destroyed.
"As my mother cried, I had a strong realization that I could be very thankful that we were all still here and safe, and that all we had truly lost was just stuff. Additionally, the house was not adequate for us, and I looked forward to the new possibilities with a positive resolve.."
This positive resolve has continuously lifted David through odds that the vast majority of us would find insurmountable. At the age of 10, David underwent surgery to lengthen the tendons in his legs. This operation was undertaken with the intention that David would be able to walk from its success. He remembers waking up in agonizing pain mid-operation, as they had not administered the proper amount of anesthesia. The surgery was not completed, and David was stitched up as quickly and safely as possible and underwent many months of physical therapy.
"I moved toward a mindset of acceptance and gratitude for what I did have. I said to myself, "Hey, I've got all my limbs; I don't need to walk; it could be even worse." Rather than a life of endless surgeries and their possible complications, I chose to live a life of acceptance of my circumstances and the pursuit of happiness. I look for no pity; I am a human being like anyone else and deserve no pity or special treatment. I let my life experiences be my teacher and though there has been immense pain, I strive to find meaning and joy in all things."
With all that David had endured up to this point, he vividly remembers that around the age of 12 or 13, he decided that he had to pave his way. He became grounded in his principals and morals and forged his way forward, refusing to ever succumb to a victim mentality.
I was blessed with strength and an extraordinary family.
Throughout high school, David was regarded by the administration as basically an incapable person; he was considered someone who was slow, stupid, or too disabled to pursue his dreams. David faced this all with tremendous strength, courage, and determination to never allow the outside world to define him and his abilities.
In high school, I really followed my own way. I was never one to follow trends and didn’t care to be socially accepted as a measuring stick of my worth and success. I just put my head down and focused on getting through. Though I had much opposition at every turn, most rigorously from the school itself, I was blessed with a mentor and advocate in my U.S. History teacher Brian Minich. Brian believed in me like I did myself and encouraged that inner resolve in me.
David developed an intense passion for music during this time; listening to music became his escape from quite a hostile world. He was never one to delve into drugs and alcohol. He was interested in really feeling alive. Music gave him life and joy. His interest in pursuing music in some capacity was met dismissively in his sophomore year of high school, but it was a dream on which he would never give up.
In 2010, David was a senior in high school and on the verge of graduating, when he developed a cyst the size of a softball underneath his thigh. He was determined to graduate but was bedridden in a hospital. He finished his requirements from that hospital bed, and with the help and advocacy of Mr. Minich, they pushed the school to allow him to graduate on time.
The following three years would be another very trying time for me. It took that long to heal from the cyst, diagnose the underlying issue, and successfully treat it. It was determined that I had inverse acne, a skin irritation that develops underneath the skin, not on the surface. For one of those years, I was completely bedridden. My family took total care of me, and I truly did not leave the bed for anything. My inner will was never crushed, but it was certainly tried. Prayer is truly powerful.
In 2015, David remembered another direct encounter with the Divine. Still deeply enamored with music, David made and still maintains a close personal friendship with a band called, “The Chesapeake Sons,” whom he has seen at least 40 or 50 times to date. While attending a show and caught up in the ecstasy of the music, he heard his soul speaking to him.
I had been pondering the idea of pursuing music production and recording but struggled with hesitation and some self-doubt. Lost in the music that night in 2015, it was like angels came to me and said, “David, go do this, you can do this; you are ready.” It was an incredibly powerful evening, and the following year I enrolled in the Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts in Phoenix, Maryland.
David's experience in college was the complete opposite of his high school years. He was immersed in learning what he loved, and all in a nurturing environment with supportive teachers and peers.
David graduated in 2017, with a degree in audio engineering, a dream he actualized against all the odds.
David has never let others define him or limit his abilities, and despite all he’s been through he’s never allowed himself to fall into despair. David is truly an ambassador of goodness, kindness, strength, and conviction.
In late 2019, he joined the One World Blue Network at https://www.blupela.com as a Project Sales Leader. The world is a brighter place because of David Gumble’s refusal to let the world define him, and his insistence that it becomes the world it was created to be.

James W Jenson Photography

The Buddie Photo Session Case is a uniquely designed photography equipment case that provides an on-location photographer the convenience of assembling the needed camera equipment and accessories in one case, and is designed to make on-location photography easier. The photography case recently completed the initial ideation design phase and will be going into the industrial design phase during winter 2020 with a possible prototype of the photography case completed by late spring 2020.
"For years, I have wondered how I could give back to the photography industry. The photography case concept is a result of some frustration I have experienced while taking camera gear to and from photo sessions. This case concept came from the Most High. The case is designed to make transporting camera gear easier for photographers. I am looking forward to finishing up the industrial design phase and getting the case on the market for the photography community to enjoy." -James Jenson
BIO and One World Blue media interview with: James W. Jenson, Jr., Industrial Photographer:
During his early years growing as a Denver, CO native, James was always intrigued with the environment around him. As a senior in high school, he picked up his very first camera, (a Kodac 110) and soon discovered the excitement in taking photographs.
The below prints are available for you as a token of my thanks for your donation.

James' subject matter consisted of airplanes, clouds, flowers and sunsets. In the late 1980s, he had the good fortune of meeting a professional photographer who took the time to mentor him and strongly encouraged James to consider the possibility of a career in photography.
By late 1990, Jenson became hooked on architectural images, fascinated with the structural elements that populate the urban landscape.
In late 1992, he took the leap of faith and founded James W. Jenson photography (JWJP) a Denver based commercial photography firm that specializes in architecture, engineering, industrial and transportation photography.
~~One World Blue Media question~~: Mr Jenson, In today's world, when it appears that more and more people truly want to start their own business and go into work that they sincerely love, what are some words of encouragement and advice you could offer to those looking to take the "leap of faith" that you did?
James Jenson: "I would have to say it takes faith, prayer, visualizing your success, hard work and surrounding yourself with positive, successful people who can mentor you and keep you encouraged when you hit bumps in the road. It's also very important to have a product or service that is marketable. If possible, try to have at least 6 months of savings put aside to live on and switch to part-time work until you can get your vision off the ground. I wished I haddone this when I was starting out. "
Since then Jenson has been blessed with an extensive portfolio of professional work which includes photography of many large scale, high profile projects.
"First and foremost my creative eye comes from the Most High! The mentoring and coaching I received from other photographers has helped shape the way I do image capture. I aim to capture images that are unique and give the viewer a different visual perspective of the subject matter being photographed. I strive to capture the best image/images I can for a client's project or for my own creative use."
Capturing images in the above mentioned industries is James' passion. During the image capture process, he focuses on working with fill light and natural light along with the elements of color, design, shadows, shapes, lines, angles, patterns and textures.

The end goal is to pleasantly surprise and delight clients with a collection of exceptional photographic images that best showcase their projects.
~One World Blue Media question~: What do you feel the moral responsibilities of the artist are? How can artists contribute to a more peaceful world?
" James Jenson: I cannot speak for other artists, but as for me, I strive to offer quality products and services in an ethical, professional, and honest manner. I believe a person should use their talents to inspire, encourage, motivate, and uplift others. Creative gifts can bring excitement and encouragement to all that come in contact with them and hopefully make the world a better place."
"What inspires me is the endless possibilities for creative image capture. Photographers are artists. We use a different set of tools. Painters use canvas and brushes, and photographers use their cameras."
Some of Jenson's work has been published in GATEWAY TO THE WEST - a glossy coffee table book about the design and construction of Denver International Airport, Construction Today Magazine, the online magazine Fabric Architecture and Engineering News Record Magazine (which are all national trade publications), RTD Publications, Denver Corporate Connection Magazine and The Denver Post.
He is also a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) which are two of the most respected international photography organizations in the world.
In addition to being a member of these organizations, JW Jenson, LLC recently received the 2019 Build Awards Excellence in Industrial Photography Certificate from Al Global Media.
~One World Blue Media question~ : james, please speak a bit more on the racial discrimination you've experienced in your field? How can this be overcome on a wide scale, how do you overcome it personally?
"Yes I have experienced racial discrimination in my line of work. Historically, industrial photography is not usually done by people of color. Photographers of color are more popular as fashion, lifestyle, wedding, portrait, product, sports, food, nature, entertainment, news and media photographers, not industrial photographers. This has been my experience and as a result, I strive to provide the best service and images I can. Industrial photography is a different type of visual creativity. During a meeting or portfolio showing, I can usually tell in a few minutes if I'm being judged as a person of color and not as a professional photographer by the questions asked and the general tone of the meeting. Once I pick up on this type of attitude/behavior, my best approach is to politely step away from that firm/individual and move on to the next opportunity. I believe it's important to work with people who celebrate, respect, value and appreciate your creative talents. I have also begun mentoring other photographers of color and getting them more interested in architectural and industrial photography. This will go a long in helping to eliminate some of the stereotypes and help people understand that it's ok to work with talented people of color in the creative space."

No One Told Me a Revolution Could Be Beautiful

No one told me that a revolution could be beautiful.
Or that it could make friends of people that might never otherwise cross paths and a city feel like an intimate community. But the truth is that solidarity and a common purpose can do all of these things.
What I've witnessed while on the streets defies the common perception of a protest. When we turn on the TV or open a newspaper we rarely get beyond instances of violence, broken glass and loud, fleeting energy. But this is not the story. The truth is that this movement is one of solidarity, a dedication to justice and equality, young leadership and love.
I was recently told by an editor that they were not interested in images from ongoing demonstrations unless, “the protests become unruly and fraught with conflict" and so I am sharing with you here what the ground truth is. My hope is these images give you a glimpse into what a revolution born of community and commitment can look like
In Syracuse, the grassroots organization Last Chance for Change has committed to 40 days of demonstrations against police brutality and racial injustice and dedicates time each week to pick up trash in city neighborhoods. Their approach is insistent, consistent and emphasizes education and giving back to the community.
Today, Juneteenth, marks their 20th day of consecutive demonstrations.

Earlier this week demonstrators gathered outside the Syracuse City Justice Center after learning that Jakelle Davis, 23, had been jailed only days after being shot in the face by a Syracuse police officer. The officer reported Jakelle reached for a gun; this remains unclear as none of the officers on scene were wearing body cameras.
Have you attended a demonstration in your city?
To quote Angela Davis, “You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time.”
With such a focus on violence and unrest I encourage everyone to see and experience what is happening in your community and to then draw your own conclusions—you might just be surprised, inspired and find yourself in the presence of a generation committed to a more just nation.
Change is going to come—if not now, when?
I've recently turned this newsletter into a bi-monthly publication and created an option for folks to subscribe for a few dollars a month.

Jordan Danielsen

Bernard Asper
A native of Denver Colorado but raised in the Iowa heartland on the banks of the Muddy Mississippi, Jordan Danielsen grew up with guitar in hand and a harmonica on his neck.
A wandering loner at heart, Jordan has spent much of his musical career as a solo act. However he has also played with some of the finest musicians in the Midwest to create two full length albums and do a bit of touring as well.
In 2011, Jordan released his debut CD Night Alone in the City; an album very diverse from start to finish. Chalked full of soulful horns, electric guitars, acoustic ballads, blues and a tiny bit of hip hop. Jordan's lyrics tell the story of his life growing up in Davenport, IA., and at times borders on the hilarious.
From the Old Soul Album
2014 brought the release of Old Soul, an album much different than it's predecessor. Jordan spins his musical tales of river's, roadtrips, and great grandfathers in the civil war. Sleek piano, organ moans, and haunting fiddle make this collection of songs very soothing yet exciting, and tend to take you along for the ride.
Always on tour and never without a song in his throat, Jordan writes from his life experiences and reflects his personality through his music. With many more songs to record and endless gigs to play, he continues to strive for new audiences every day.

The Jordan and Jef Show!
In 2014, Jordan started touring with a young musician out of Houston, Texas by the name of Jef Spradley. Jef plays a small stripped down drum set while singing some pretty amazing harmonies. The two together put on a pretty entertaining show and it's one not to miss.
Every show is different. Not to mention both artists are accomplished songwriters. The two have spread their reach throughout the Mid West and keep getting better with every performance.

Here is what the One World Blue Songwriter Review by Talent Director Russell Johnson, Renowned and Acclaimed JRJ Productions Founder, has to say:
"Jordan Danielsen, an in-demand singer-songwriter who hails from Davenport, Iowa by way of Denver, Colorado, is quickly and steadily making a name for himself. In-demand is not an overstatement; playing 5-6 nights a week in the quad-cities area and stretching as far as Chicago and Omaha."
"Jordan came to music and especially songwriting quite organically, happening almost simultaneously. At 14 he got his first guitar, and as soon as he learned his first three chords, he wrote his first song. Now, two albums later, he is expanding his horizons on a regional and national level."
"Jordan began as a self-taught musician in his youth, using his natural ear to understand song structure and what makes a song quite simply... Good. As he matured he realized the need for further instruction, not just in technical music performing but also earning a degree in Music Business."
"His unique talent and hard work has culminated in Jordan Danielsen becoming well known in his region and throughout the Midwest and two exceptional albums - "Night Alone in the City" and "Old Soul". Each individual and fine examples of well crafted songs with thoughtful lyrics and a very strong songcraft with the arrangements and hooks that keep the listener firmly engaged. It is obvious that all is where it should be."
"Featured on Trop-Rock radio, Jordan's music can loosley be considered "Americana" with strong tinges of country, jazz and classic '70s rock and roll. His influences range from Van Morrison to Paul Simon to The Counting Crows and can be heard in his many compositions."
"Check out Jordan Danielsen's music here and online streaming, you won't be sorry. Run to a show when you can. This author is impressed and feels sure you will be as well."

Bodies Into Balance

Bodies Into Balance
Bodies Into Balance
Jenny Jean Crawford
Integrative Health Consultant
Hi! I'm Jenny, creator of The Gut Check Method: Heal the Gut, Optimize Your Health.
I help purpose-driven professionals striving to to live up to their true potential to optimize their health and boost immunity. We work to restore and revitalize their physical, mental, and emotional well being throughout the process. Once they’re in a space of balance, it allows them to show up with vitality, focus, and presence in all aspects of their lives.
They realize that their fogginess, anxiety, weakened immune response and gastric distress are costing them the ability to work and move in their lives standing in their full power, ultimately affecting the impact that they can make on the world around them.
A study published by the National Institute of Health in 2008 states that gut-associated lymphoid tissue accounts for approximately 70% of the entire immune system. Another study published by the NIH in 2015 shows that changes in the intestinal microbiome can lead to breakdown in the intestinal layers of immunological defense that leaves the body susceptible to infections and inflammatory conditions.
So, I took my background as a clinical herbalist and a health and nutrition coach, and I designed a system to guide people through the process of healing from within called The Gut Check Method: Heal the Gut, Optimize Your Health.
We do this through my 3 pronged proprietary methodology called Nourish, Meditate, and Move, which allows clients to experience more vitality and productivity so that they can be more present and effective in their work and personal lives. Ultimately, this leaves them feeling empowered, peaceful, and fulfilled.
One World Blue Question: Describe some of your journey into holistic healing? How does a chemical engineer make their way into herbology, nutrition, candida overgrowth support, and all-around wellness?
Around my junior year at CMU, I started to become disenchanted with what they were teaching us. Essentially, they were teaching us to pollute as much as possible in order to save money without getting fined for it. This created much moral dissonance inside of me, but this was just the beginning of my path.
One World Blue Question: Where did you go from there?
I graduated with my B.S. in Chemical Engineering and worked in nanotechnology for a little while. The real dive into my quest for holistic healing began when I was working for a research firm running tests on various samples for a doctor who worked with Autistic clients . I could see through the research some direct effects and impacts on the body from various foods being fed to the patients. A few months into my work there, my mother became ill and was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer, a very aggressive form. She suffered from rheumatoid arthritis most of her life, which is also an inflammatory disease. I worked for this firm for the next year and was laid off thankfully at a time when my mother needed me the most. I saw how the Chemo was wreaking havoc on her body and overall well-being, and I went back into intensive research mode on a quest to help my mother get through this naturally.
One World Blue Question: Did your mother survive?
Unfortunately, my mother was taken by her illness. I have accepted that this was beyond my control and was from a higher authority. I was not able to save my mother, but it sparked in me my passion for educating myself and the world on all the findings I would continue to gather. Through this very painful tragedy, I found a deep calling within me. I became a clinical herbalist and a health and nutrition coach in 2018 and began my practice soon after.

One World Blue Question: Healing is not a “one size fits all” process, is it?
Health and healing are certainly not a “one size fits all” type of discipline. Everybody has a unique biochemistry. I encourage my clients to communicate with their bodies, to identify the messages their bodies are sending them. I also do not believe that healing takes place exclusively through nutrition; all areas of a person’s life must be evaluated. What is going on in their emotional lives? How is their mental health? Where are they spiritually? This is completely distinctive for each person, and they will be the best assessors of their health and well-being. I advocate not just focusing on diet, nutrition, and herbs, but on their entire being. I want to lead my clients on a path to becoming their own healers. I am most passionate about teaching people to be in tune with their deepest God given essence and to heal from within.

Warm up with Fire Cider!
Now that the Holiday Season and its accompanying cold weather is upon us, it really helps to bolster our immune systems for a number of reasons. Firstly, we are out and about, being more active and often running ourselves ragged with all the preparation and revelry. Even when it is in the service others, stress and lack of adequate rest still leads to a weakened immune system. All the while, we are getting exposed to plenty of germs and viruses that are more than willing to take advantage of our weakened constitution.

8 Billion Trees was founded with a simple idea: if people can destroy the Earth, they can also help to rebuild it.
Co-founders Michael Powell and Jon Chambers were inspired by groups like Ecosia and Trees for the Future, but saw the opportunity to do something even bigger: plant and save 8 billion trees.
Taking their passion for entrepreneurship and channeling it into a cause for greater good, 8 Billion Trees was born on November 10th, 2018.
At 8 Billion Trees, the goal is to become the most environmentally aware company on the planet. 8 Billion Trees doesn't simply want to reduce the negative impacts of habitat destruction, deforestation and irresponsible forestry--it wants to use these issues as fuel to completely revitalize what it means to be environmentally friendly. By changing our environment and spreading awareness, it is hoping to make a global change.
It also hopes to serve as an example for other companies by proving that focusing on social and environmental responsibility just as much as profit is a sustainable business model.
Everything 8 Billion Trees does as a company is dedicated to furthering its environmental mission.
8 Billion Trees' mission is really to restore the Earth and fight against the evils of deforestation. 8 Billion Trees is always striving to find new ways to revitalize and restore the environment. 4 Ocean

One World Blue, LLC
The 4ocean Bracelet
To pull one pound of trash from the ocean and coastlines for every product purchased
4ocean was born on a plastic-covered beach in Bali, Indonesia
4ocean founders, Alex and Andrew, have been around the ocean their entire lives. They both grew up on the Florida coast, swimming, diving, fishing, and surfing. After becoming friends in college, they saved up their money for the surf trip of a lifetime to Bali. When they arrived, they found a beach that was completely covered in plastic, with trash-filled waves delivering more garbage with each break.
They asked a local why such a popular, and otherwise beautiful, shoreline wasn’t kept clean, and were told that the beaches had been cleaned just hours earlier. The trash they were wading through had only just washed ashore.
Their eyes were immediately opened to the magnitude of the ocean plastic crisis, and they vowed on the spot to try to do something about it.
The Original 4oceon Bracelet
Wearing the 4ocean Bracelet instantly identifies you as a member of the clean ocean movement and symbolizes your commitment to a plastic-free ocean.
